Outdoor Retreat by far is the worst imo. The world's pretty, the build/buy's alright, as is the CAS...but there's no pizazz in it. It's really painfully obvious that it's the first pack, and like all of the first packs, it kind of sucks. Jungle Adventure handled the vacation aspect of the vacation world so much better. What's worse is that with seasons installed it's impossible to complete anything relating to the aspiration in a timely manner.
People hating on Vampires here just don't like occults, and like that's on them, but pretending that makes it the worst game pack when outdoor retreat exists with 1 skill, bug collectibles, campfires, horseshoe tossing and tents? lol. Vampires as a pack has solid build/buy objects, a creepy matching world, fun CAS assets, and an in depth system that brought more life to occults than any game had previously with the sims. The only other option here that's really a contender is Dine Out due to the sheer number of bugs, and the silly, silly fact you can't hire your own family members to work in your family's restaurant! Even then, the build/buy objects keep it a little bit higher than outdoor retreat for me, as with the fact that even with the bugs, your sims can go to restaurants without needing to own them.
Right, so I voted for vampires and it's not because I hate occults. I love occults! But playing a vampire was just kinda one-and-done for me, and the B&B is completely impossible to incorporate in my play style in any way outside of vampires. So that's why I voted for it as the worst. OR is a little lacking, yeah (I agree it's probably because it was the first pack), but I like the rustic vibe of the furniture and I use it in a lot of my builds - and I take my sims to Granite Falls every now and then whereas I never visit the creepy vampire world ever, at all. And I think the skill of OR is a lot of fun and I like that it's actually quite difficult to complete because you need to be in GF (because let's face it, most skills are easy to max). It's also a useful skill because you can actually do stuff with the potions, whereas the friggin Pipe Organ is just a joke of a skill, it's just so lame!
The Vampire Knowledge skill is OK, but again only something I do with a sim who wants to become (or is) a vampire.
So fun to do for once, but then never again for me. But perhaps I should revisit the vampires, who knows my mind might change.
Edit: to clarify, I don't, by any means, think Vampires is a bad pack. I'm actually enthusiastic about all the GPs. It's just the one I get the least use out of so therefore it is the worst for me personally.
