Hi everyone. :)I've been thinking about religons for the sims 4, something that is not offensive for all the sensitive people and even better if it's a facultative option for the game (For example, religions can be active only if there is a church in the town).I think that a modern version of the sims medieval religions would be amazing for ceremonies (weddings and funerals) and maybe sims can even be priest and make this a job a la ambitions. :-) So, what do you think about that? :mrgreen: (ps. i'm sorry if i made mistakes with grammar, i'm not that good at english! :lol: )

I would rather not watch the religion arguments that would spring up.And before anyone says they wouldn't: People have been arguing about the religion in Sims Medieval and whether or not it's historically accurate or insulting on and off on this site ever since Sims Medieval came out. So, yeah, this would cause arguments.

If it wasn't such a hot topic, perhaps, but then there'd be storm of requests and declarations of what religion it should be based on, what should be included etc.It worked in TSM because that was based on Medieval Europe, so seeing Catholic and Christian influences there fit into the world. It wouldn't work the same in The Sims 4.Best to keep it out of the game really.

No, it's a bad idea.If it's a real religion, people will complain if it's not their religion. They will complain because it's a religion they don't like or absolutely don't believe in. They will complain because it may include something their real life religion frowns upon. They will complain because they don't want religion at all. They will complain because it makes them uncomfortable. The list could go on and on.If it's a made up religion, people will complain about and debate what religion it's based off of. Then, of course, all of the above will happen. :lol: I think it's best that religion stay out of this game. They'd never be able to make a religion everyone would accept and agree on, so it's best to just stay out of it, as I think EA will pretty much continue to do.

Would you like a modern Jacoban and Peteran religion (TSM) for The Sims 4?

I think the "groups" that were suggested in the Ideas and Feedback board a while back, IIRC, by IMeep, were a good idea that would allow people to make religion if they wanted.

Community arguments aside (because frankly, I could ignore those) I wouldn't want this in my game just because I don't believe in following organized religion. Has too many rules and restrictions and I wouldn't want it in my game.

Plus, I am their God, they only bow to me 8)

Good point right there. I believe in God but I don't belong to any religious groups because of their rules and such.

I never used to, but sure, why not? Anything to bring some drama and conflict into this game. They got way too utopia in 3. I want some crazyness again, like in the original and ts2. religion might be a good catalyst for it.

They could easily add a simple non-offensive religion aspect to the game. Have a building called "Religious center" and add a "pious" trait which would give sims an emotional boost for visiting the Religious Center. It wouldn't step on anyone's toes, but would add the option for people that would like to mimic religions from different times and places. Anyone who doesn't want it would just not put it in their town.
