Allow me to clarify:
1) Patch in a few hot tubs into the base game. Possibly designs from past iterations since the anniversary update is coming up. The Love Tub would be a cool return.
2) Throughout their 5 years of running, they haven't released a single hot tub outside of Perfect Patio. Even though, in The Sims 3, they did introduce more with additional DLCs. A patch released for those who own a certain DLC (EP/GP/SP - surprised we didn't get any hot tubs in Backyard Stuff), with more hot tub choices.
Well seeing they basically told us the ONLY WAY we could get hot tubs for Sims 4 was in the Perfect Patio pack because no other dev wanted to make any - it stands to reason that was the only hot tubs we would get - period.
We went through the same thing with washers and dryers and were told the ONLY way we'd get laundry in game was if Laundry won the vote - that there would only be those laundry appliances in the game and only if it got enough votes as no other dev was making laundry and why Graham decided to do it. In fact of the 5 choices we got to pick from they also indicated just the winning vote getter would be made for the game that the 4 that lost would not be in the game. I never voted for laundry - I voted for Going green, eco friendly stuff. I even got a bit miffed when they made some off the grid stuff for Island Living - as they had indicated when laundry won we would not get any of the other 4 ideas in game - yet they added some off the grid stuff. So that already annoys me - even though I wanted eco related stuff - if someone tells me it's not going to be in game when it lost the vote - then I expect it to not be in the game no matter how much I once wanted it.
When they said the only way we could get hot tubs was the stuff pack they came in - I expect that to be true - not a ploy to force me into buying that pack because I wanted hot tubs. I do not expect ANY other hot tubs or I am going to get angry about it. I do not look kindly on being deceived. So if they want to make free hot tubs - then they better be free only to people who bought and paid for the animations and mechanics to have them work in the game.
Look at MFP - if you did not own Cats and Dogs - some of the animated items in the pack were just statues and were not working items. So fine give free hot tubs decor that does not become usable unless you paid for the SP - that would be fine.
