Nah sadly you are right, they definitely wouldn’t. I just feel that some of these things (that aren’t adding entirely new features) really wouldn’t be that hard for them to do, like updating Parenthood interactions (as it’s just more ways to tell sims to do things they can already do, no new animations have to be added to any of this), adding a non-active traditional type vet career (with the three tracks - even if we’d never get to see them treat the large animals but well..), or as @PandoraTO has suggested unlocking vacation worlds or more household slots.
Like I get that most of the big(ger) things they’ll never actually do, but with how they started this iteration, I can’t help but feel that throwing their most loyal fans a bone on the way out, by taking care of some of the low hanging fruit, might just make them a little less…terrified, of just how bad the online multi-platform TS5 will be.
