I second the tea. When I had a living author sim (may he RIP), he also had the traits that made him regularly inspired, but a combination of flirty aura decor, a steamy shower, and a good cup of steamy ginseng tea was always enough to get Flirty to overpower his innate inspired state.
I may have to swap out one of the custom traits to be sure it works. It's not unusual at all for her to be +4 to +10 inspired alone, though +4 to +6 is the norm. Throw in the boosters from happy and she's often very inspired.
