Write romance when not flirty

If you're friends with Diego Lobo there's always a good chance he'll turn on the romantic fireplace. Bring a portable laptop. Or the Lobo apartment lived in by anyone, regardless, just light that thing on your own.
The stargazer also has the romantic aura though I don't find it to be as strong as Diego's fireplace if you're looking to write away from home for scenery. The bungalow in Selvadorada has a romantic aura if she wants to write on vacation. That's about 50/50 usually. Helps to take the steamy shower there. Again portable laptop. My romance novelist has a portable so I can have her write when the mood strikes and she's not home that often.
Being near a sim they're smitten with. May take a few romantic prompts.
There are a lot of ways to become flirty but like others said your sim can always finish romance novels while not being flirty they just can't start them.
I have put my sims through a lot of romantic situations/challenges. I have more the opposite problem of them being anything else ? they're always smitten with someone. Plus the happiness buff in addition to flirty takes awhile to wear off.
