Just because there are job openings for the gurus that are no longer in the game doesn't mean there's nothing to worry about. Most of the employees they laid off were veteran employees, like you said, with experience with the Sims 1, 2 & 3. Getting rid of experienced and knowledgeable employees in order to hire new and inexperienced people doesn't sound to me like a good idea. I am really sick of seeing people say, " Every company switches employees around, that's just business!" The Sims isn't just some basic business with replaceable employees, it hires people that have to be at the top of their skills, in terms of coding, animation, design and artistry. It should be a highly experienced team of professionals working toward something they are passionate about. The fact that the Sims is now a revolving door of employment and has several job openings that haven't been filled yet should be worrisome. We have no idea who these new employees will be or what their skills will be like. If the new employees are not at the top of their game, the game will suffer, and the players will be upset.
So, maybe these job openings do mean that the Sims will go on for a time, but do you really think that anything will get better? My fear is it will get worse, unfortunately.
I didn't realize there was more than one.
