I'll give this pack a 9 now. The patch for console has been great. I was messing around with Build/Buy mode for a few hours and I didn't have a single crash or a loss of sound.
I was able to build a small pagoda style house on one of the 15x20 lots with room for trees out front. It has a proper engawa around 3 of the four sides of it, and I'm going to redo the interior to add some more features.

Thanks so much for the link! I was so engrossed I read several articles about Japanese culture. I only knew a few of the customs so it was a learning experience as well. Love the tips on building, thanks again!
