Your thoughts on Realm of Magic so far?

I think it's pretty bad actually. I'm glad some people are happy with it though

I like it however it's not as as good as it could have been but I think we have been trained to accept less in this iteration :) @hunniboo1 I hope you manage to heal fast :)

They managed to ruin the most anticipated super naturals. Too much was recycled so the spell casters don’t feel unique, the world is pitiful and the realm is boring.

Oh yes, and everyone becoming magical? Please. :(

I'm loving it. I haven't even gotten to poke at the magic parts in my previous saves because I got caught up in the household I started to check out all the magic stuff (and I haven't gotten close to running out of things to do yet).
It could've been different and maybe it would've been great that way too (probably would, but who knows who'd be unhappy with it then) but as it is, it's fun and actually had more than what I was expecting.
I only came across two bugs and only one of them actually interfered with my game (I don't care about the potion selling at the moment but the lack of a value on them is a big deal in general) so I'll be looking for a fix on that (look, I can't teleport in real life so I want to live vicariously through my SIms lol). So yeah, happy with it.

To avoid answering before i know, i will state that so far with a lot of people playing with their RoM families, battles and the like on what has happened on your game today thread, it seems to be an interesting pack from what i can tell. FYI, one of the game changers is also doing some contest for one person to win RoM, so long as you don't have RoM you can enter:

Horrible without mods sadly...

Never with any previous pack have I had to download so many mods and custom content in order to make it enjoyable.

- The Magic HQ that originally ships with the pack is empty and boring.
- Turning my existing premades into spellcasters was an absolutely awful decision. I had to re-roll my game back to a early backup to fix it.
- Potions don't sell for any money. How this was missed before the pack launched actually amazes me.
- Spells seem completely not thought through. CopyPasto probably should of just been called MoneyCheat#2.
- Familiars don't really do much.
- Brooms are just a fancy teteport.
- All the lots in Glimmerbrook are practically empty and devoid of furniture or decoration.

Those are just a few faults that spring to my mind.

It has a few good points like the spellcaster skill panel/spellbook. The premades, cas items and build and buy items are all really nice.

It’s not perfect, but I like it.

It could have been better for sure. There's a few bugs that annoy me (most already mentioned here by others) and it's pretty clear based on these bugs and little things missing (like the back stairs to that house going to nowhere and the roof swatch not coloured the same on the bar) that this wasn't properly play tested before hand. However, I love every bit of BB and CAS and I'm having a lot of fun with my spellcasters despite the disappointments.

Glimmerbrook is beautiful.
The bugs & glitches still need to be fixed.

I'm enjoying it. I have found, however, that being a spellcaster is more challenging when you're doing that in parallel to something else that requires a fair amount of focus - such as an active career or something like exploring Selvadorada or even mastering herbalisim. That is, I don't let being a spellcaster be the focus of the character.

Guess all those years of Urban Fantasy reading, writing, and GM'ing are coming in handy. :)
