Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? Deutsch
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.96.397.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Cottage living, snowy escape, eco lifestyle, discover university, island living, get famous, seasons, cats and dogs, city living, get together, get to work, werewolves, journey to batuu, realm of magic, strangerville, jungle andenture, parenthood, vampires, dine out, spa day, outdoor living, paranormal stuff, tiny living, moschino, laundry day, fitness, vintage glamour, backyard stuff, romantic garden, movie hangout, spooky stuff, cool kitchen stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Create a Sim and move it onto a regular lot. Enroll it at a university and choose to live at a dormitory and finish the enrollment process. When you try to move to that dorm or visit the lot with a sim there is a long loading screen and an error message occurs.
What happens when the bug occurs? I try to move into a dorm after enrolling my Sim into the Univerity of Britchester, nothing happens after the enrollment process, after manually trying to go to the lot there is a loading screen, Error message pops up : The game could not be loaded. Error code: 102:2c9ee95a:c14dbac4. We advice to restart the game.
What do you expect to see? I expect the Sim to move into the dormitory right after the enrollment process. I also expect the chosen lot to appear after the loading screen after trying to visit the dormitory lot manually.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

The bug has been appearing for over half a year now. I removed all mods and reinstalled the game, as well as repaired the game and updated it to the newest version.

It happens with mutliple sims and different households, also in different safe files. I've seen others havng this broblem too a couple years ago, but it did get resolved for them with a new update.

However the appearence of my bug occured after that and even after updates and reinstalling it still didnt get resolved.

  • Hey, thank you for your reply.

I did have LastException files in my folder and deleted them.

I restarted the game and triggered the error again.

There was a new LastException file in my folder and I was able to track down a mod that I had placed in a wrong folder and couldn't find anymore. My game seemed to work fine with it before an update.

I deleteted it but now I am unable to start my game again. Repairing doesn't work either, nothing happens. I am not sure what to do.

  • Hey, I'm very sorry for the inconvenience.
i restarted my laptop and I was able to repair the game. I managed to start it and tried to trigger the Error again, but it didn't come up.
thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate it.
