after the frist update before lovestruck came out I cant use my mods

I don't have the Lovestruck pack but since the first update before it came out I can't use my mods. When I turn them on and then try to create  a new game the white transition screen between the main screen to cas never changes and basically freezes and i can't even hit Esc; I have to shut my laptop off and on, go back to the game and turn off my mods, only then will it work fine. I also just don't have the tec knowledge to know what I should try to do to fix it. I would appreciate any solutions anyone can give me, Thanks🙂
