all sims stuck/wont interact with eachother

This is SOOO niche but just in case this helps anyone; two of my sims would not stop glitching out.  wouldn't move, sleep, use phone, or interact with anything or anysim. Even went into this mode switching between a standing position and T posing at infinitum.  Just these two, no other played sims glitched.

!! IT WAS AN EVENT ITEM !! , the two sims in question, were both holding keys from the Lost Legacies Event in there inventory.  I couldn't delete them, because they were event items, but I could find and place the curio table and drag them into that.  I removed 3 keys from one sims inventory, and the 2 others that were in my other sims inventory suddenly ceased to exist.  (good thing I wasn't saving those or anything)

I was going crazy trying to figure out what made these 2 sims special.  no CC, no Modded traits.  uninstalled script mods, uninstalled ALL mods.  Finally I'm scrolling through forums and someone says 'just delete their inventory and see what happens, you don't have to save after'.   The one thing I couldn't delete, was the family keys from the event.  The keys are gone and now my sims can live life again, which is ironic that it was the keys because the main reward from the event is a cursed ring.  That neither of them were wearing.  The ring seems to work fine actually.

The clean uninstall fixed it! Its taken ages to install and download everything again but at least I can now play it!! Thank you for your help! Hopefully this wont be the case with every update :D 

kailatte  I don't know whether it would fix this problem, but uninstalling and reinstalling is probably the next step anyway.  Here's how to do a clean uninstall:

Thank you. I'll try that but the issues continue with only base game. Not sure what to do from here. Lots of money spent on a game that I can no longer play. Do you think uninstalling and reinstalling would fix the issue?

kailatte  You can't revert to the previous patch level, but if you want to try disabling some packs, here's how:

im having a very similar issue where I click on my sims and nothing happens, no social options or anything, all they can do is walk around when but no autonomy either they just stand in place until i indicate for them to move and can’t interact with eachother or perform any actions at my command 

There wasn't anything in their inventories as I've tried a new save file and everything. I'll try the moving households and see if that helps but I've tried this on 2 separate saves now and still getting the same results, which sucks as the game is now literally unplayable. Is there any way to undo the update? As I'm certain that's what caused it to break. The sims team haven't mentioned anything about fixing this issue too, which is disheartening with the amount of time and money I have now put into this game.

kailatte  Try completely clearing out your sims' inventories.  You don't need to save your progress; this is just for testing.

If that doesn't help, try moving the sims to a different house through Manage Worlds.  Use a default EA-made house, nothing from the Gallery or your own library.  Empty their inventories again.  Here too, you don't need to save your progress.

Seems like its not Lovestrucks fault. It must have been the update as without the pack enabled my sim still cannot interact with anything. They will walk with no issues but they cant sit or lay down.  Instead the UI just changes states (will state sitting/sleeping etc) but the sim will just stand there. My sims also can't travel or move households, they just stare at their phone till I cancel the action. They used to dance on the spot but I cleared the thumbcache and they dont do that anymore but still refusing to interact :/

kailatte  Are there any other differences between when you're playing with Lovestruck enabled and without?  For example, are the sims living in a different world, or going on dates?
