Always Raining, for over a sim year

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.51.77.1220
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get to work, cats and dogs, seasons and the free stuff.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I'm not sure. Start a new game with seasons expansion, and all types of weather turned on.
What happens when the bug occurs? It has been raining every day in my game for at least a whole sim year. (I am playing on the 7 days in a season setting) At first, I thought it was raining because it was spring. Then it rained all summer, maybe one clear day, but I definitely had a couple of thunderstorm days mixed in with regular rain. Then it rained through the fall and snowed all winter. I'm back to spring or summer again, I'm not sure, because every day is the same rainy day. Even when I look at the calendar forecast, every day is forecast for rain. I have also tried to use the weather machine to change the weather, but my sim has either been unsuccessful or the weather has returned to rain within a sim day.
What do you expect to see? I expect to have one or two rainy days a week maximum, mixed with days of other types of weather, like cloudy, cold but clear, heat wave, or sunny.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

What is especially frustrating about this problem is that my sims cannot enjoy any outdoor activities. I have a sim with a Freelance Botanist aspiration, but he can't ever go out and weed or water the garden. 

In looking at the current issues I found some comments that said you could change weather preferences to never rain or never snow. I had no idea that was possible, so I am going to change those settings and see if that resets something. But I really would like to be able to play with occasional rain and snow.

    Hi @Hannahart 

    have you tried to repair your game through Origin ?

    What hood are you playing ?

    Does the same happen if you start a new save for testing purposes ?

    This sounds like the weather in Brindleton Bay. I had a family there for two long generations with 28 day seasons and the weather was like this. I had to get the weather machine and upgrade it so my Sims could do anything outdoors. The effect of the weather machine seems to only last about 12 hours, otherwise  every day was thunderstorms or heavy rain. Winter was then always blizzards or heavy snow. The weather in that world is a bit extreme.

    The same problem with my game now, it's always raining or snowing every day.

    This seems to be world-specific.

    I'm currently playiing a totally vanilla game, no mods, and Willow Creek has had rain for the entire (7-day) season of summer, with thunderstorms upsetting the Pancakes every single night.

    In the past, I've noticed the same sort of thing with Newcrest.

    But if I go to Oasis Springs, you can immediately tell that each world has its own weather tendencies, because it's sunny and hot there, which makes sense.

    I think the problem is either that Willow Creek and Newcrest (and maybe others) are set up wrong, or that there's a bug in the procedural weather generation that's brought out by the factors set for those worlds.

    If EA wants to test this, I would advise doing a few fresh runs in Willow Creek, starting in the Summer season, and see if you get a full season of rain like we do. Just load up the Pancakes household and let them run at 3x speed for the season.

    I mean, I know it's supposed to be bayou country, similar to probably Louisiana, where you do get hurricanes in summer, but it shouldn't be ALL summer, every day, all day. There's clearly something amiss here.
