The ONLY thing the would truly make me upset is if community tools where made to-pay. I remember back in the Sims 2 time where the game was left unsupported with many bugs. The community is what kept the game going. The community created fixes for those bugs. If there became a new download organizer (or any new tool) for the Sims 4 and it was only kept behind a paywall, then I would be upset. Hefty mods like that take a lot of work and some compensation is warranted, but requiring people to pay to fix their game or to improve their play is just wrong-- in my opinion.
Now I don't agree with other CC being kept behind a paywall forever, but that wouldn't cause me to have negative feelings because ultimately in my play I view CC like new clothes and mods like new technologies-- which should be created for the betterment of all.
