Baby appeared in Sim's home

My Sim went to another household, and when she returned, there was a baby in a bassinet in her bedroom?! Like, how did it get there when my Sim hasn't woohoo'd yet? The baby also has her last name. I guess it's a Mary Magdalene situation. Now when I'm in manage my world, it show's a baby bottle with the number 1 beside it? I am so confused. I know there is some sort of patch or glitz because my Sim can't enter her house through her front door nor get past the bathroom so she has to use and befriend other Sims so she can eat and won't starve to death. I've only had the game for 3 days and I can't play it fully. This is absolutely frustrating. Any resolutions about this situation would be appreciated.

@Shawnie48 Yeah, it usually sounds pretty bad, but I understand the circumstances and that it's just an unwanted baby the game spawned accidentally.

You could just age them up and place them with another family via the 'Manage Households' option? (deleting a 'baby' just destroys the bassinet it sleeps in and you can't recover them)

If you want to do that, It's located in the upper right next to the right of the gallery icon, its appearance is 2 people with a little pencil.

You'll have two tabs one labeled 'My Households and "Other Households' it's usually the former that's selected by default. (The Shuffle-like icon is the neighborhood stories button)

What you do next is select the family you want to manage and click on the two horizontal arrows, it'll take you to a popup to 'Split and merge'

You then select the sim you want out of the house and move them to the sim's household that you desire. You'll no longer have the child in the family.

(Just note that It will add the family you put them into the 'My Households' tab making them a household you 'play with' and a little something to mention with Neighborhood Stories, it'll be active for sims and families located in 'Other Households' Tab)

Hopefully, I didn't confuse you too much!

  • Do you have the neighborhood stories on? maybe its possible they adopted the child that way

  • @Neechan1 I'll have to check. I wish there was a way for me to delete the baby (I know that sounds bad)?

  • No, this is helpful. I'll try it out once I finish exploring Sims 4. There is so much to learn!

  • @Neechan1 This worked! It took a few tries but my Sim baby is now with another family. Now to work on getting my Sim to access her home. (Currently she can go no further than the bathroom 🤷🏽‍♀️).
