I am now having this issue. My Sim is a werewolf that is required to read three werewolf books. She read the first two without issue. Now, the third required book is not showing a progress bar and is not counting towards the aspiration.
I saw in an old thread about spellcasters and debate skills. I am neither.
EtA: After trying a few more books, I got the progress bar to show up. However, despite being werewolf books, they did not count towards my aspiration.
