Sometimes when I am trying to place an item it just disappears. Or sometimes when placing a counter, trying to place another counter next to it makes it disappear. Very frustrating hard to build sinc...

I had this issue and found that if there are multiple apartments on the lot, if they are hidden, it can give you the fixed object error. Unhiding all the other apartments removed the error and let me build as I wished.
