    Yeah, a lot of people do that and then things like what you ran into happen.  But imo, you should start a build using the room tool.  That gives you a flat foundation to start with and if you want elevation changes, like a sunken area or a raised area, use a platform for just the area you want at a different height.  

    You'll get the hang of it though.  It just takes time and a lot of patience to learn the quirks of the build system and the only way to do that is to just do it.  The order in which you do things makes a difference too.  It's hard to explain since it's a pretty complicated process but I have found ways to get what I want in the end most of the time.  You just have to keep working at it.

Yeah, missed that until I reread it just now.

Definitely looks like it might be a platform issue.  Best guess though.  It could be something else we can't see in the pic.

Sorry for the delay... work beckoned.

How would I fix such an issue?

Obviously something is there, but the kitchen is usually the first thing I decorate. I had -just- started with the stove, when I noticed it wouldn't work. I then tested the fridge, then the counter. The counter became my go-to as I tried things out, but yeah, none of the furniture items work on THAT WALL. The foundation is raised, but the rest of the house was a simple slab and wall put-together. Not sure what I would have messed up.

I will try deleting the wall and re-placing it with a new one, and see if it works. If it doesn't, I will try that code.

It's not platforms. The wall is adjacent to a laundry room, which is opened to the hall leading into the kitchen. It's all the same level. If the two options do not work, I will submit more pics.

    Replacing the wall worked, and now I feel like an idiot for not doing that sooner.

      Oh, this is just upsetting.

      So two walls away, the almost exact same thing is happening again.

      I say almost, because instead of it not working at all, it just refuses to work in -that- direction. I can swivel it, I can angle it, and it will work just fine on that 'node'. The moment I put it facing the way I would need to if I -hadnt had to tear down every single wall trying to make it work-, though... nope, it wont work. And, as you can see from the picture, it wont work even without walls. There's nothing there to obstruct it... not EVEN the wall!

        I know you said there were no platforms but that sure sounds like what happens when a platform has been deleted.  But you said you haven't used any so....

        The only thing I can think of is to save the lot to your library, bulldoze the lot and replace it with the copy from your library.  Sometimes that does fix things like what you are seeing.  Another way to do it is save and quit and restart the game.  If you go that way, before you restart, you can also delete the localthumbcache file.  That will fix some things too, but mostly that works for cc related issues and you've said you don't use any but it can't hurt to give it a try.
