It's just regular custom content. No mods. But any of the ones that came in a .zip file would not open. I don't know if I did something wrong or my computer just doesn't wanna work for them.
The actual zips won't open? Or, the files inside the zip won't open?
You don't open the files that are inside the zip. That is normal if your computer won't open the .package files. If you can't open the zip files at all, though, then there is something wrong with your computer and we'll have to dive a little deeper to fix that. :)

@caitlynskye22 I'm glad you posted this question. I'm timidly (having downloaded the cc files) hovering over them like a mother hen not being sure exactly what to do. I'm still nervous about it but I copied this page and think I'm further along with taking the plunge. Geez, I'm such a wuss :-P
Provided that you're not having any problems opening the zip files, you just open them, and take the .package files out, and drop them into Mods. It's quite simple.
Two exceptions to note for both of you: Certain mods come in a zip folder - actual mods, not CC - and they need to be left in their zip in order to function. The creator will specify if this is the case. Secondly, Lots/Houses/Sims come zipped, but instead of .package files you'll get a bunch of other random files in the zip - they get extracted and placed in Tray instead of Mods.
