Can't play households new patch

Since the new patch came out earlier today I have not been able to play any of the sim households. I will click on the play button to open the household, it will load for a while then take me back to the residential world's screen. The same thing will happen when I try to go into build mode but I am still able to go into CAS. The only issue I have with CAS is that I don't have the sexuality panel, I just have the regular gender options like physique and can they become a pregnant option. I do have body hair but since I can not play or go into build mode I don't know if I have the new phone or curved walls. I will likely say this is due to mods not being updated yet but I haven't seen anyone else with this issue and I am just really curious if there is another reason this might be happening. I have also attached an error I got after I tried playing a household.

Have you tried to load a new game with all your mods disabled? That will tell you if it's a mods thing or if your game installation is messed up.

Make sure you delete the localthumbcache.package file as well after removing the mods. Always do that step every time you update mods or add/remove mods.

If the game is still messed up after troubleshooting your mods, then do a file check on the game.

I ended up just splitting my mod folder in half and manually going through each file. I got rid of all script file mods and anything that went with them. I updated everything that had an available update. It's tedious and time-consuming but after that, I put all my mods back together and started the game. I was able to go into a household and everything was updated in CAS and build mode. But, now when I go into a household all of my sims are gone. It only happens when I go into live mode with any sim. I think this might be the bug everyone was talking about saying it essentially killed all their sims. If you are able to get into your households I recommend testing it on a new save file or with townies so you do not lose your sims, also don't save while in-game so you can just exit in case your sims disappear. Sorry if this is confusing but it's the way I found it to work.

  • Update--  I think I figured out that the cause of this issue might be because of the XML injector. Once it was updated I was able to enter households. I also had an issue with Nisa Wicked Perversions and Extreme Violence mod. Once they were removed from my game everything worked normally.

im having the same issue. how do you do a file check?

Should be an option in the Origin app.

Though sounds like your issue will turn out similar to OP's issue - some mod  you have installed is messed up and will need to be updated.

Go through your mods list and update all that have been updated -

Remove any mods that are broken but haven't yet been updated.

Make sure you delete the localthumbcache.package file after updating your mods (or removing/adding mods).
