Cant resume to household in TS4 2022

So i am aware that there are probably thousands of threads with the same title, but my situation is a little different.

I wasn't having any issues prior to the most recent update. my drivers is also up to date. The only thing that i have changed was i upgraded my same laptop from 512gb to 2TB ssd. So i have this new ssd drive in my computer. I do have mods and cc and yes they are up to date. i have removed duplicates and zip files. now the issue started when i downloaded a cc house. And everytime i changed the game speed from 3 to 1 or pause to 3, the game just closes out. no warning or anything. i deleted the house and tried a different lot, and everything seemed to be okay. Literally yesterday i was playing, with no issues. i didnt download or add anything to my game, i played with same cc mods i had before. now all of a sudden today, i chaned my settings to ultra because my sim was getting the "shiny sim issue". now  everytime i boot up the game and click "resume" on the household i was playing yesterday, it just closes out (EVEN when i change the settings down again0 and i dont know whats going on. I will list all of the touble shooting steps i have thus far:

-updated game (yes i took the mods folder out)

- ive repaired the game

-ive done the 50/50 and when i did this, i thought it was my hair folder, but when i put the folder in my game....it didnt crash!

Mind you..i used to play ts4 for like 5 hours straight with NO crash prior to this.

My computer specs:

Device name MSI
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.60 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Please assist, and TIA! 🙂

@simliciouss1  I don't see anything concerning in your dxdiag.  That's not conclusive; I'm just saying there's no evidence of anything you need to address.  The Sims 4 crashes could all be a result of bad custom content, and those are the only listed crashes—a dxdiag only lists the last ten software crashes overall.

I'd say that as long as you sort out your cc and the game is running well again, you don't need to worry.

  • And yes, I just tried resuming the game with lower settings and it still crashes

  • @simliciouss1  To be clear, when you take the Mods folder out, do you get a crash?  If not, you need to sort through your mods and custom content again, except this time, keep going until you figure out what causes the crash.

If each folder is fine on its own but all of them together cause a crash, narrow things down to the two folders that make the game crash together.  Leave one folder in and use the 50/50 method on the files inside the other folder.  Once you've found the first conflicting file, leave that file in and do the 50/50 sort on the files in the other folder.  Then you can decide which file to keep.

If the game crashes with no files in the Mods folder at all, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
