This is known to be caused by broken Mods particularly an old version of MCCC so remove all Mods/CC and look for updates.where you got it.
Encountered Game failed to load error 102:c4caa9ed:eeb17472 today, one of my sims was travelling to another lot the game took too long to load the location and then this error popped up and I currently cant play this family at all, I tried moving them to another lot and back the error persists.
From what I've read its caused by mods? Do i have to backup repair the game and try again or is there a simpler solution for this issue?
I have too much stuff installed to update all of it, just wanna know whats the best sollution, attached my dxdiag file too.

So i backed up my stuff deleted everything repaired the game opened then closed and returned the files and I still had the same error with that family.

Do not return the Mods and CC that cause the issue.
But by doing this, how do you get your mods back? And do you remove them then put them back on before you go on the game
Look for updates where you got them or confirmation that they still work at the current patch level. Failing that add a little at a time while testing the game until you have found all that are broken.
I have the same problem with my game, the thing is I don't currently have any mods or even cc installed. I have cleaned both Sims cache and origin cache and repair game. I tried playing through a holiday with another household in the savefile but that didn't help either
ok for everybody, you need to end the holiday of the day without the mods and after that you can put back your mods and it will be good, it works for me
Want to chime in here - in my experience, this is not a mod/cc issue. I removed all mods and cc, cleared cache, repaired, etc. and the problem remained for me.
Meanwhile, the Halloween holiday event had been scheduled for the following sim-day in the save file in question. The holiday had not actually started, but I had received the little pop up from the sim’s calendar that “Halloween is tomorrow”. So I recovered a save file from a few hours (my time) earlier, which took my game back a few sim-days. This save file loaded without errors.
Interestingly enough, this recovered save file that loaded fine was saved during the Prank Day holiday (2 sim-hours into the holiday itself). Perhaps the issue occurs when you save during the time between the little calendar notification of “[holiday] is tomorrow” and the start of the holiday itself?
Anyways, will try to get my game back to the point of the problem save, and will save again once it moves through the Halloween holiday. Then will try to load it and see how it goes. Will update then if I’ve found anything relevant.
@crinrict I didn't copy down the full error code - it could have been a slightly different 102.
Regardless, once I recovered a previous save and played through the holiday, I was able to save, exit game, and load back up without any problems. Going to hold onto the problem save though and do some more troubleshooting to see if any other factors may have contributed to the error besides the holiday.
edit: went back into bugged save file and copied the exact error code - searched for similar issues experienced by others and this thread was the most relevant result. exact error code was: 102:f299fdf3:a2640b05. no google results returned for this exact code, one result for 110:f299fdf3, read through the thread and seems issue was linked to a birthday event?
This just happened to me and i just remembered that before i finished saving the game i had closed the screen on my laptop. Hope this helps 🙂

@Senasenaa Please test in a clean user data folder. Move your entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. Don't add anything to it yet; just start a new save and make sure it works properly.
If it does, you can copy one of your saves from the old Sims 4 folder to the new one, and see whether it works. (Saves are located in the saves folder.) If the save loads normally, you can start adding your mods and cc back in batches, testing each time to make sure the save still works. Any batch that causes another error needs to be split and tested until you find the problem file(s).
If your save still throws an error in the clean folder, try a backup save instead. Use the manual method in the link below, and transfer one backup at a time to the new Sims 4 folder.
