Changing language of the game with reinstallation

My problem is with changing the language of the game. I originally installed the game in Finnish, but now I would like to play the game in English. I know how to change the language, but the problem is that the names of all the worlds, neighborhoods, households and lots did not change to English. I have tried to manually change the laguage of neighborhoods one at a time with The Sims 4 Wiki, but I recently noticed that I cannot change the name of the worlds myself. Entire Komorebi neighborhood is still in Finnish - also the name of the world. I've tried to fix the game couple times, but that hasn't helped. I suspect the problem is with the files related to the game saves. So my question is, how should I save my game so far so that I can reinstall the game and restore all my households and lots to a reinstalled game? If I save them to my library  - I assume they are located to the tray folder, do I need any more information from the save folder? I have decorated most of the apartment buildings in San Myshuno. Can they be saved to the library and later restored from there?

  • @H8H8H  As you've seen, changing the game's language doesn't affect any saves you've already created, and there's no way to edit world or neighborhood names within the game.  You may be able to do it with Sims4Studio though—at least, google thinks so.  I haven't tested, so I have no idea whether it still works, but you could always experiment on a backup copy of one of your saves.

Your new saves should have English names even if you don't reinstall the game.  At the very least, test it out first, as in, start a new save, before going through the trouble of uninstalling and reinstalling.

For your existing saves, if you save your households and builds to the in-game library, the associated files will all be in the Tray folder.  I'd still keep the old saves on hand in case you need them later, but you won't need their data when you're placing the sims and lots into your new saves.

For any other user data you might want to preserve, please see this guide:
