Community Managertwo days ago ive experienced this issue for the first time when the game asked me to select a character i want to travel with, and since then it kept on popping up all time. i was usually able to close the bugged window with an escape key but sometimes it bugged out so bad i had to restart my game and lose any unsaved progress. like last night. it happens with any windows, travel, phone, ordering food, trying to cook, even when i want to open a sim's profile. thing is, i play with mods. lots of mods. and i dont know if like something ive installed is bugging my game out or is this a thing thats been happening for others too. anyyy ways to fix this? or if anyone knows a mod thats been causing the same issue for them?
The easiest way to tell if the problem is caused by a mod is to disable your mods in the game and make a new save (so your modded save doesn't lose all your cc). If the problem persists, then it's a bug, if it doesn't, then it's due to one (or more) of your mods.
If it's a mod issue, the best way to test which one(s) is causing the problem is the 50/50 method where you move your mod folder out of the game completely, then add 50% off the mods into the game. Check to see if the problem occurs. If it doesn't, then you know those mods are safe. You'll then take them out and take 50% of the 2nd 50% and do the same.
When the problem occurs, then you'll know it's one of those mods. Split that batch in half, rinse and repeat, until you've found the culprit.
It's a tedious process, but it's really the only way that you can do it.
I do recommend using Twisted Mexi's Better Exceptions mod which will let you know if any exceptions occur and which mods may be causing them. It's really helpful!
