Continuous loading for specific game file
Hello,
I recently got a new computer and the first thing I did was download the Sims 4! It worked fine for the first few days, but recently I've been having a problem with one household. It was a save file that already had two custom households I was playing in Oasis Springs. When I made the next one, it worked fine for the gaming session. I made sure to have it properly because I've had issues in the past, but the next time I log on to play the game will not open in that household. The game will move to the loading screen, and then load forever. I left my computer open and awake to see if it'd ever load, but after 8 hours it was still loading.
I do use mods and custom content, including CAS mods, Build Mode mods, and Script/Behavior/Trait mods. I thought the problem might've had something to do with one of them, and at first, tried to go through the files one by one, but couldn't find anything definitive. Eventually, I just deleted all my mods, but the game still wouldn't load! This is only an issue that happens to this specific household. I can make new games, and play the other households in the file, but it will not load for this house.
I went as far as deleting the Sims 4 as an app from my computer completely, then re-adding the household from the gallery. I thought at first that it would work because it ran fine for about 10 minutes. Then, when trying to bring them from one location to the next, the game got stuck on the loading screen again. I'll add that the problem first started when i went to CAS to change an outfit, and when I clicked done to bring it back to the game, it got stuck. Thanks!
For cooking mods you want to *not* delete them. See if you can find the rest of what that mod belongs to (it probably has other parts) and put them all back in. Deleting parts or all of a cooking mod without having first deleted food and plates from it can stop loading.
Alternatively, test with no mods and see if you can load an earlier version of the save.
