Control Lights in NPC Homes?

It really annoys me that if my sim stays in an NPC's home/residential lot, that I can't control the lights - such as turning them off when my sim goes to sleep. Is there a mod out there that allows you to control the lights on all residential lots in the same way that you can on community lots?
