cozy celebrations glitch

Sims REFUSE to do tasks. I'm still stuck in the first week's activities. When you tell them to ask about traditions, the sims just stare into each others eyes and dance nonstop. you tell them to cook japchae and it'll pause the screen, then the chef's hat disappears and then it'll unpause and continue like i didn't tell them to cook. running zero mods or cc. these glitches didn't start until i updated for the event. I want to participate in the event and earn the goodies but cannot at all. tried many minor fixes I've found online that are related (not just on ea) but nothing works. redownloaded game, repaired game, tried new save, etc.  please help

    @mrsvansciver It still sounds like mods might be active. Try dragging the whole mods folder out, delete the file called localthumbcache, and use a new save.

    @luthienrising thank you for your help but I tried everything that you said to try and nothing has changed. At this point it makes the game unplayable. Sure I can build, which is my absolute favorite part, but I can't actually play with any sims anymore, nor do any tasks or participate in events and that part really sucks. I will be missing out on the event. I've been trying to open a case on this issue but at most, it allows me to post in the forums. I'm not sure what to do at this point....any ideas are appreciated. thank you again.

    @mrsvansciver If you still have a Cozy Celebrations glitch after removing the Mods folder and that's happening in a new save, head to Bug Reports.
