My mistake! I triple-checked my image sizes and they were wrong. I'd still like to ask about using a sim name, if anyone knows how!
It's {0.SimFirstName} or {0.SimName}
For grammatical gender, you can use {M0.Man}{F0.Woman} where you replace Man/Woman with the word you want.
