creating a new sim, looking for a house or a lot which can't be bought

Yesterday and today i wanted to fix my sim self a bit and want to start over, but when i want to move into a empty house or lot none of them can't be bought even if i have 1200 simoleons and the houses or lots are cheap that i could afford. When i started to play with sim self the loading screen took too long so i couldn't even play....

  • @ChakaiB  Just to clarify, how much money does your sim have, and how much money do the lots cost that you should be able to buy but can't?  Does this happen in a new save with a freshly-created sim?  I'm not saying you can't use your selfsim, just that it's a useful test.

Please also try repairing the game in Origin: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair.

Did you make your sim in CAS using the story mode rather than saying no, and bypassing that and making your sim the usual way?  Sometimes, sims created using story mode will not be given enough money to buy any lot in the game when you exit CAS.  There has been an issue with that off and on since that feature was introduced.

There are several ways to deal with it.

One way is to move them into a cheap apartment, then use the Motherlode or Kaching cheats to give them enough money to buy a lot.  Then move them to the lot.

Another way is, when you go to move them in, open the command line window and use the freerealestate cheat when you get to the map screen to choose the lot.  The map perimeters will all turn green.  Then you can move the sim into any lot you want.  But if your sim doesn't have much money, you might not be able to pay the bills so you might have to cheat them some money just to survive long enough until they can earn enough to support themselves on their own.

And a third way is to move the sim into an existing household, then split the household in MH, transferring enough money to buy a lot to your sim.  It is sort of like stealing money from the other household but it does get the job done.

    Hope this helps.
