people keep calling this a normal mod-breaking update, but this one doesn’t line up at all. after the marketplace update a bunch of cc got removed for a lot of people, and if you actually look at what disappeared it gets weird fast. check the creators. a lot of the cc getting removed is from creators that are now partnered with the marketplace, which makes this feel way less random than people are saying.
honestly it feels less like a bug and more like they’re testing how people react when their cc gets taken away. like seeing if players will just deal with it, get tired of fixing their mods, and eventually give in and start using the marketplace instead. if people get used to their cc disappearing every update, it’s not hard to imagine some will just settle and buy what’s put in front of them.
and the whole “this helps creators make money” thing doesn’t really work when creators were already making money before this through patreon, early access, commissions, and even creator kits that already existed and were official. if ea really wanted to support creators they could’ve improved that instead of adding a marketplace right before all this started happening.
maybe it really is a coincidence, but the timing, the creators involved, and the way this rolled out makes it look more like a test than an accident.
