Default eyes being reported as CC by the Gallery

No mods, just default eyes and undies installed in my game. When I try to upload a sim to the Gallery it gets classified it as "modded" if I leave the default eyes file in my Mods/Packages folder. It has no problem with the default underwear, treats it as a default like it should. It's the default eyes that seem to be the problem. I don't have any other CC installed and I tested it with and without the eye default and it's only with the eye default installed that the sim is treated as "modded".

Any ideas? Bug? Working as intended? (defaults only work locally and do not in any way alter the base appearance of the sim or introduce a new mesh, so technically the sim is not "modded" by default eyes any more than it would be modded by wearing the undies for which I have a default installed)

  • My issue is that it is not reporting all defaults as CC. I absolutely agree that they're CC but why only eyes and not undies?
  • Default is what is vanilla, EA. You're using default to mean CC? Default replacement eyes are still CC, just means they replace all the eyes in your game by default.

You say you have default undies? I don't understand? You have CC undies that by default replace the ones that come with the game? As in you can no longer access the ones that came with the game?

    Default is not CC.
    Default replacements are CC.

I don't know why it is flagging some CC and not all CC.
  • I would think it might have something to do with what exactly the replacements in question contain. Hard to tell without knowing what content this was exactly, but if one was a texture override and the other one maybe had custom descriptions as well, the latter would require overriding the CASP in addition to the texture -- perhaps that is what makes the game flag it as "custom".

Maybe @SimGuruEugi can give us some more detail on what exactly makes a thing be classified as "Modded"? Particularly in the light of the current situation with Offline Mode (where one cannot access these items anymore) =/

Yes, I was using "default" to mean "default replacement", or more specifically "default texture override" as a default replacement can also mean a whole mesh replacement, which these are not. Either way, an eye default replacement is just a local texture override and probably should not be getting reported as CC. I have taken the eye default replacements out and everything is fine on my end. @pbox is probably right and the way the eye default replacement were made may have something to do with why the game is treating them as "reportable" CC, rather than ignoring them like it is ignoring the undie texture replacement.
