Endless loading screen after removing CC

hi everyone, sorry in advance I am not tech savvy at all

My game has been lagging (sometimes crashing) more or less since a few years back but kind of recently it’s been extremely slow and laggy, maybe because of the recent updates the past six months idk. So I started with trying to remove some CC.

(bare in mind I almost always play with my super sim save, and she has 50+ traits and a loooot of **bleep** in her inventory and household inventory etc + all the CC as well, so I understand the game being slow and laggy)

but now I just had enough and decided to move the mods/cc (only hair/skin/clothes/makeup) folder onto my desktop, not deleting everything. I tried removing the cache and repaired the game in the EA app, restarted my router etc but it’s an endless loading screen every time when I try to play on that save file. Usually it’s taken a long time to load before since all the cc, all the packs and stuff I’ve collected but I figured it would be faster now that I removed the Cc. I also removed all the makeup and skin, clothes in CAS that was CC on my sim before removing the mods folder onto my desktop.

I tried starting the game on another save file and the game works and it loaded kind of fast which was nice to know so the game isn’t completely **bleep**ed.

So, can anyone help me how I get the super sim save file to load and play on that again? 🥰

  • ellenfrankliin  Try the 50/50 method, but looking for the mods and custom content you need to add back in order for the household to load.  I would start with anything traits-related since the game might not know what to do with a sim that has 50 traits if some of them are custom.

  • thank you puzzlezaddict

I did move back about 30% of the Cc and the save loaded in about 5 min and functions, still a bit slow but much faster. I don’t have anything traits related, just clothes/skin/hair Cc. I guess this will due as a solution for now!

  • I do not use CC due to always have to move them out of mods folders so I stopped using any custom content mods. They always would break my game, anyways you need to move those cc mods out of your game.
