Error code 801 but no mods or cc ... Please save my save!
Help save my 500+ hour save file!
I was playing my Sims 4 yesterday and had 2 household members travelling to a different location. I had a situation happen outside of my home and had to turn off my game, so I pressed save and exit while my sims were out of household. I have done this before and had no issues when I log back in, I could just have the sims return home.
When I went back to play, I had error code 801 every time when I go to click on my save. I have been in contact with EA support and read all of the threads here and there seems to be nothing to do to save this. The 5th EA advisor I spoke to just told me I have to start from zero.
I tried the following ...
- remove the mods folder even though nothing was in it. I don't use mods or cc
- repair the game on origin
- download ea desktop and repair on there
- move out each file at a time
- soft boot my computer
- troubleshoot
I tried to go reload old saves and it won't let me do that either. Anyone have any advise? I have accomplished so much on the last 579 hours I can't imagine this is it.
