[FIXED] Sims won't use stove/fridge to cook or wash dishes

So last night I encountered a problem with my sims not being able to cook using the stove OR fridge.This is a problem with every household. I just waved it off then but now I really need my sims to cook because that's the only way I can anyone to age up. By now, I've tried EVERY fix that I've come across and I'm looking at a brick wall. Nothing has worked. I've tried these things:
- repairing game through origin
- moving kitchen decor around & replacing both oven and fridge (I found no weirdly placed items that could possibly disturb routing)
- renaming game folder to restore to factory settings
- deleting lastexception.txt files
- deleting cache files
When I completely restored the game to factory settings it worked with just the bare game but when I put back all of my old content it went back to not working. It could possibly be a bad piece of CC but it doesn't seem very likely.
Extra info (im not knowledgable on tech things so its not particularly detailed) :
Laptop: Acer Aspire E1 series (E1470P6659)

Specs
- Processor: Intel Core i3-3217U
- Graphics?: Intel HD Graphics 4000

The first occurence of the glitch was 12/31/2015. I've had other glitches/problems also such as all saves missing from game & custom content not showing up in game.

I have a desktop that my sister mainly uses but do you recommend that I maybe move my saves there incase its my computer causing problems? She never has problems with her game (she doesnt have CC but I rarely have CC related problems)

FIXED: Turns out it WAS rotten CC that I didn't bother to look at. I know, I hate myself too.
