Most Gallery issues are NOT caused by mods. To find out if yours are, you need to do more than change game options:
- Rename the Mods folder
- Delete the file called localthumbcache
- Reload the game and try again

If there are in-game issues that are cleared up with mods, please see the pinned topics in this forum. Not being able to play is often mod-related, but there are variations on that - for example, there are issues with removing mods and then trying to load a played household where a mod was used (for a small number of mods). But there are also broken mods that block all household loading.
