gloriousquickcan Do you use mods? UI distortion like that is usually mod-related. If you have anything other than resource.cfg in your Mods folder, rename that folder (this turns it into a backup folder) and delete the file called localthumbcache.package. Then try again. You can exit without saving.

How would I know what mods or mod would be causing this issue
gloriousquickcan You would start with the pinned resources at the top of the Mods Forum page - lists of updated mods, instructions on testing, etc. These are also always linked in the "Start Here" thread pinned at the side.
Please try this test:
- Drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop and rename it.
- Run a Game Repair in the EA App. (If you use Steam, the equivalent is Verify Integrity.)
- Launch Sims 4. You should get no list of mods on launch, and you should have no option to load a previous save. Reset your Options.
- Start with New to test if your issue recurs in a new game when you open the gallery.
