Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I have no idea how to replicate this issue, it seems to happen totally randomly, and every time it crashes is a new surprise to me.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game runs extremely lagged and crashes nearly every single day that I play it.
What do you expect to see? I would like to see the game no longer lag and to stop crashing.

Please describe the patch or change you made. Since the latest For Rent patch, my game is unplayable. It crashes every time I play. No matter what fix or reset or whatever I do, it continues to crash out of nowhere.
I have reset and created a new Sims 4 Folder (however, doing this does not allow me to load into the game unless I put all the original contents back anyway; it will only load if nothing is in my Sims 4 Folder, not even my Tray files), I have cleared my caches more times than I can count, I've done the 50/50 method on my mods more often than I have actually played the game as of late, I have repaired the game in Origin multiple times, I have Better Exceptions by Twisted Mexi constantly installed to help me track what the issues could be, and nothing is actually FIXING the crashing and the lagging. I don't know what the issue is, and I am having trouble establishing a through-line--what could possibly be the root cause of the crashing. It all happens so randomly. I am subscribed to Deaderpool Discord, and I check the list of Outdated Mods on this EA Forum on a weekly basis to make sure I'm doing my part to keep up with mod updates, but to no avail. The game does not to tell me what is wrong, it just crashes. At this point, is there any possible way to save the progress I have made on this game? Were Save Files corrupted after the patch? I'm going in circles here. I upgraded to a bigger computer with 4x more storage and double the processing power thinking it would help since I have so many packs and a pretty big Mods folder, but it seems the game's performance is even worse now. I'm more than happy to share my save file, any exception or crash reports, or even my computer specs if it would give some insight to what is going on.
Additionally, the only repeated crashing I have been able to repeat is when I send a sim to a restaurant. Before they can be seated, every time, the whole game crashes. This happens specifically with Restaurant lots (any other time if it crashes it would do so randomly). Again, I did all the above-mentioned steps, most of which I have done over and over again, and the lag and crashing is still there. Just a few moments ago, I had a sims restocking items at a retail store she owns, and it crashed. That was the first time it has crashed during that interaction. She was maybe five items into restocking and it collapsed.

@AkennArt Because not all mods that are broken get reported anywhere and because updated mods can still have problems, please test without mods. Exit Sims 4 then drag your Mods folder to your desktop. Then delete the file called localthumbcache from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. If you think you might accidentally forget to exit without saving after testing, copy your Saves folder to your desktop too, to back it up. Now open Sims 4 and see if you still have the problem. If you don't, you can start the process of figuring out what from your Mods folder was causing it. If you do still have the problem, we can start working on what's causing it.
@luthienrisingOkay, I'll go my Mods folder again and keep adding stuff back until it crashes. I'll report back later today...
@luthienrising Okay, circling back to this, so I've spent all day testing my mods and it has not be very fruitful. I was able to repeat the restaurant crashing with something in my subfolder for Somik & Severinka's Cooking mods, but when I continued piecemeal testing each item in that subfolder, all of a sudden it didn't crash. I don't think it's because the issue is fixed though. Crashing still seems to be very random, it does not boil down to any one mod. I have been unable to isolate it by loading the game with just a few of my mods in at a time. This time, instead of testing with a mod, it doesn't crash, removing it, and then testing with the next set of mods, I just kept the 'cleared' mods in my Mods folder so the game was being run with the same mods over and over with new ones added back each time. I just cleared the localthumbcache file each time before loading the game. Still the crashing is very unpredictable--at one point it would crash, then at another point it won't. I have never run into this issue before. Usually a 50/50 method has always done the trick, but I am not able to narrow anything down going through my mods over and over again. Is there another way to test that I might be missing?
@AkennArt Cooking mods can be very fussy. Make sure, when you are in, that you delete all the plates and food related to them. Then try removing that mod. I'd advise just deleting everything from the creator and redownloading, including checking for any new installation instructions, known conflicts, and known mod issues.
