Game freezes and cannot save

Question

Going to this forum sometimes feels like you're trying to mop the ocean, but here goes.

I play the Sims 4 on a Mac and every time I play (for the last two weeks) it freezes. I cannot switch players, change the time speed, or save the game. It is so unusual because the TV still goes, the fireplace as well. Another unusual thing is that I am still able to check their needs, ( like pressing the letter O), check their clubs that came with the Get together pack, (pressing the letter U). It has been super annoying. Is anyone else having this problem?

I have reinstalled Origin and the Sims 4 and reset Origin. I have a considerable amount of CC and 2-4 mods but nothing crazy at all. SOMEONE HELP!!!

Move your Mods folder outside of the Sims 4 folder, or rename it so the game does not load it, trash the localthumbcache.package file in the Sims 4 folder then load the game and play for a bit. Make sure not to save your game as none of your CC/Mods will be loaded. Do you still have the issues in this vanilla game?

I did what you suggested and have no issues. I played for a bit and it would've frozen by now. How do I get my mods and CC back without it freezing now? THANK YOU!

Great 🙂 You have to now test your CC/Mods to see which ones are broken. Move them into the newly created Mods folder in small batches testing after adding each batch. When your game breaks again you know there is a problem in one or more files you just added. Move them back out, trash the localthumbcache.package file and test that batch one by one until you find the culprit.

The current Updated list is also there, and I'm still sometimes referring people to the 1.105 Broken/Updated Mods &amp; CC thread because of how much needed updating.
