game freezing

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? loading the game
What happens when the bug occurs? when I load the game, the sims 4 logo is missing from the load screen, it takes longer to load than usual, then when I am finished playing and do save and exit it freezes indefinitely, it does save but it won't unfreeze until I force close. It even freezes like this if I just try to exit the menu screen. I suspect the problem started because I had enabled cc and downloaded mods but I have since deleted all of my mods, disabled cc in the game, and even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. The issue has not changed at all. It also crashed unexpectedly once mid-game.
What do you expect to see? Logo at boot and no freezing or crashing
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.

Please describe the patch or change you made. the change im thinking caused this was the mods I had installed
Unfortunately it's hard to get any kind of gameplay screenshots because the game freezes so much, I'd be happy to provide any info that could be helpful
