Game Won't Open

Every time I click the play button, the 'preparing game' message shows up, but after like 1-2 minutes, it just puts me back on the EA screen. No error message pops up after the EA screen comes back up.

It started happening on 4/14. I play every day, but before I play, I always download a few mods. On 4/14, my game wouldn't open, so I updated my mods, but that didn't work. Then, I deleted all the mods I downloaded that day, but my game still won't open. I still have all my other mods, though.

So, I downloaded plumbbuddy and it told me that I had a sims 3 mod in my folder. Since I deleted it, my game has been back to normal.

I’m experiencing the same issue on Mac. When I click Play, the preparing game message appears, then after 1-2 minutes the EA App reopens and the game never launches. No error message appears.
This started today, even though the game worked fine yesterday. I don’t use mods, only base game and expansions, and I tested with a clean Sims 4 folder. I have tried reinstalling the game and EA App, clearing cache, and granting permissions, but nothing worked.
I’ve been playing for 20 years and really hope this gets fixed soon.

Same, again. It does this to me every time there's a Windows update. And no one tells you how to fix it. Last time, it would finally load again after a month or two fighting with it, but I lost everything.

kellenvh what do you mean by fighting with it? Can you please share your tips, maybe there’s something I haven’t tried :(
