Ghost family have all disappeared

I had an entire ghost family and they’ve all disappeared. They were their own household with one living toddler and a horse, now the toddler and horse are all alone. I do have Mcc but I’ve messed around with the culling settings a lot to prevent culling sims I dont play with very often, just don’t see how they could have gone? I can’t go into the household until the toddler grows up or cps will take him away

(CM: Edited to update thread title following split from necro'd thread

  • What if you edit the household from Manage Households - can you add an adult back in that way, to make it safe to go into live mode? Or even just merge the household with another one…

That doesn’t answer where the ghosts went but could at least allow you to play with the toddler.

  • @spritelst Sounds like something a combination of MCCC settings that I'm familiar with could do, but it's supposed to happen only if the Ghosts have been released to the netherworld (Cleaner > Neighborhood Cleaner > Clean Culled Sims). You can exempt Sims related to active family members, but I don't think that covers all played households, just the current ones (Cleaner > Neighborhood Cleaner > Bypass Family Ghosts). I think it could also be worth heading to Deaderpool's own support to make sure that your MCCC settings aren't set up in a way that makes it happen again, as it does seem like it could be MCCC-related - those Sims were already dead, so Neighborhood Stories shouldn't be able to re-kill them. There should be MCCC flags you can set to prevent it, for example, or a combination of settings to avoid.

You might try loading earlier versions of the save to see if there's a pre-culled version if you want to keep those particular ghost family members.

If the folks over in Deaderpool's support tell you that MCCC couldn't have done this, please do come back and let us know.

Was the ghost household marked as played and in the My Households tab in Manage Households or marked as unplayed in the Other tab?  Ghosts that have been invited to join an active household and become playable won't be culled by the game.  The game sees them the same way it sees living sims when they are in a played household in My Households.

I'm not sure about this, but do you have Neighborhood Stories active for either played sims, unplayed sims or both?  If you enable deaths through NS, sims die, and the ghosts get culled from the household while you are not playing them.  You can disable NS for all the sims under either Manage Household tabs and for each household individually as well as disable NS deaths either way.

    Hope this helps.

Sorry for the late reply, didn’t see the comments. This is what I ended up doing, created a random woman to be his “nanny” and was able to go into the household and confirm his parents and sister were deleted, and had no record of existing in the relationship panel or family tree. I didn’t mind losing the sims, just felt bad for the poor baby to grow up alone in a castle lol.

According to deaderpool’s patreon members this wasn’t my fault, but they couldn’t tell if it was a bug caused by EA or another mod. I don’t play with neighborhood stories so it definitely wasn’t that, but I could have absentmindedly removed them from the played households tab.
