If I find a bad CAS item I put it on a sim with a name like "bad data", then load that sim into 'Sims 4 Tray importer' to find the file with the bad item and delete it, or load it into Sims 4 Studio and fix it.
Some things are well done, others aren't. Keep backup saves.
