Go to school?

I need help I downloaded this and got the schools but I can't follow my sims to school. I tried switching the lot to something else and than back to elementary and high school but that didn't work. Tried different schools to see if the one I used was the problem but that didn't help either. Any advice you can give me to make it work? Sucks that it doesn't I was really looking forward and had high expectations for this mid but right now I hate it.
