Goals and timer circle missing

I started two games using situations in Sims 4 and in both I can't see my goaled events.  If I go to work, the part on the top left corner of the screen that usually comes up with the goals and set timer won't even come up and then at the end of the day I get told I did a terrible job at work.  The situation goals icon won't even come up in the top left corner.  I haven't tried it in game without situations to see if the goals come up, but it's definitely a problem for me with situations at least.
