Help: Loading Screen Taking Forever (No Mods - JUST CC)

I just updated my game to the latest version, and when I put my mods in and try to load a household, the loading screen doesn't end, but the sound that it makes when it DOES load in, happens. I just cannot see anything except the loading screen, even though I can hear money sounds (from my characters), and other game sounds.

I removed all my mods and only added my CC (build and CAS) and its still happening. What CCs could be causing this issue and why? Its definitely not mods since even when I removed them its not happening, but even with just CC (which have no script mods inside the folder), the issue continues. With no mods or CC, game works just fine.

Is it the new update? the CC? or something completely different that I have not considered yet? I have tried everything, please help.

@luthienrising I did the 50/50 method and finally found the issue. It was a polaroid camera object in my Build Mode CC folder which was supposedly "functional" (well, I guess not). I finally got rid of it and managed to play!! Thank you both so much for your help!!! @SheriGR @luthienrising

I didn't have any of those types of mods, however, I will try to add everythinf back once again and see if that fixxes the issue. It is fine wothout either mods or CC but that might be bc the game flags it as vanilla and ignores any Mod related bugs? Not sure but I will check again by adding everything back (Mods have all been updated to the latest version). Thank you so much for the suggestion!!

  • @katherinemb It could be anything in your folder, but it could also be that you removed something the game is looking for. Common for this are that you removed a cooking mod without first deleting plates/food made with it or that you deleted CC that had become associated with a Sim's milestones, usually a CC playmat. For the first, you can try editing the house in Build/Buy, but that won't cover Sims' inventory, so often the solution is to find the mod you deleted. For the second, there's a bugfix mod: https://www.patreon.com/posts/mod-milestone-81237568

  • @katherinemb Please try the following, including removing the stated cache file and the whole Mods folder to the desktop, and see if the issue remains when following the directions...

Exit the game. Move the Mods folder from your "The Sims 4" folder [Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4] to your desktop (save it for reference) and delete the localthumbcache.package file in your “The Sims 4” folder. Then check in a new game save to see if this issue is still occurring. You can test without saving. If the issue is gone without any of the Mods/CC and the cache file, then re-add the Mods/CC a little at a time until you find which is causing the issue.
