Holiday on Repeat
A while back, I created a holiday that was right after New Years Eve. It was New Years Day; a custom holiday. The holidays passed and was great, but then weird stuff started to happen. It took me a w...
@RandomBuzziness you're both awesome, it was just a guessing game as to who would see and reply to the post first 😉 I guessed wrong, haha 😃
@anneke33, yes I would have been able to help had I been on the computer at the time you posted, but I was doing other things at the time! 😃 Thankfully @RandomBuzziness was able to help 🙌 so you didn't have to wait for me! 😳 And @RandomBuzziness is correct in that @SheriGR is also very helpful !😇
@NiaraTiara, The best procedure is to move the Mods folder to your desktop, then delete the localthumbcache.package file like @RandomBuzziness mentioned. Also for extra safe measure is to Repair your game through Origin.
Then you can add your Mods and CC back one by one, starting your game after adding each one to test each Mod or CC item. But if you have a lot of CC, then you might want to do the 50/50 Method and test a larger batch of them at a time. Once you find which Mod or CC is the culprit, you can then go back to whoever created it and see if they have an updated version (if they do, you can download that one). If they don't have a new one, then you should just forget that Mod or CC as if they are never updated, they will continue to mess up your game! 😢
You should do this after each time your game acts up, especially after a patch is released by EA, as that is when a lot of Mods/CC become outdated! We are getting a new Stuff Pack next week, so we will probably be getting a another patch from EA later this week! You might want to wait until after that to complete your testing! 🤔
Please update us on if this fixes your problem or not! 😇
And @anneke33 , I was thinking before I saw your post that it was a shame that the broken holiday wasn't Groundhog Day! 😃 Love that movie! ❤️
@PugLove888 you're absolutely right! Nobody expects you to be online 24/7 😉 And I'm also happy @RandomBuzziness was able to help out 🙂 I haven't been here for very long and have seen/read far from everything so I'm sorry if I overlooked @SheriGR! With all the helpful people here, it's hard to keep track of who's doing/saying what 🙂 Especialy if you're new, like me 😉 I'm sure I'll learn in time 🙂
(Sorry if I'm not making much sense right now, my brain is refusing to cooperate atm 😳 )
Hahaha I love that movie too! It was the first thing I thought about when I read the post 😃
Hi guys! I'm sorry I haven't seen your replies until recently. I'm still having this issue with my game unfortunately. I've tried removing my localthumbcache file, removing the Mods folder, AND repairing the game once again. Still didn't do anything. I've tried reverting to a save that was before I made the custom holiday, and oddly enough, the same problem occurred. It didn't happen when I made an entirely new save, however.
I saw one person post that there were holiday glitches reported when people have changed the game speed. That actually rings a bell for me, since before creating the new holiday, I do remember using MC Command Center to make the days longer. I shortly changed the game speed back to the default though, since the days were going way too slow for me. I ended up making "New Years Day" way later, after I've already overwritten all my older saves.
I hope my save files aren't permanently corrupted, although that seems be the case right now. 😢
@NiaraTiara, I'm very sorry to hear that! 😢 It seems like the movies and TV shows that warned us about meddling with time, were correct. 😞
So, your new save games seem unaffected, and it is only the old ones that are messed up? 🤔 Are any of your old saves working?
