household wont load

household not wont load just takes me back to the residential load picker. i tried it with anew save but it was also the same.

    @kosutae707  Please try a new save in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start another new save and let me know whether you can load into your new household.

    If that doesn't work, and you get an error message when you try, please post a screenshot of it as well.

    @kosutae707  Okay, so the clean user folder worked.  The next step is to test your old user files in the new folder.  Start with your mods and custom content, if you have any.  Here's a list of mods and cc known to be broken after the last major patch:

    For anything not on the list, you'll need to test it yourself.  The 50/50 method can make the process more efficient:

    Once you're done with that, you can copy over the contents of the saves and Tray folders, plus Screenshots and Recorded Videos if you care about those.  The rest can be discarded.
