How to edit object attributes/properties (making off the grid, increasing fun, etc)

I've only recently begun to explore modding, and have a couple of things I'd like to try. Is it possible to make an object work off-grid (for instance, if I had a computer that looked like a typewriter)? Also, is it possible to edit in-game objects to increase or decrease their attributes (Fun, comfort, etc), or would I need to clone them? The largescreen tvs that came with Tiny Living have preposterously low Funs despite their size and expense.
