How to recover a premade house ?

Hello !

I wanted to build a house on a plot that already had a premade house on it. So I deleted it and built mine but when I saved it, I forgot to do a new save so I lost the premade house in my library, which I actually liked ! Is there any way to recover it ? I can't find it in the Maxis Gallery.

Thanks for your help !

  • @Loara Are you saying you *did* save the house to your Library before you deleted and remade it? If you did that, it's still there. When you open the Gallery, go to the tab that says Library. That's your personal storage on your computer.

If it's not there, you can get it this way:
    1. From the Main Menu, select "New" to start a new game (a "save"). This won't affect the one you're playing!
    2. Make a random Sim so you can get to Manage Worlds. It doesn't matter where you stick that Sim in the game.
    3. Go to Manage Worlds, select the house you want, and click the build/buy icon to edit it.
    4. From the top, select to save the house to your Library.
    5. Exit to the Main Menu.
    6. Select "Load" to pick your regular save that you want to put that house back into.
    7. Edit the lot, and go to the Gallery icon. Click over to Library to find your house.

  • @Loara The Gallery is usually my first go to, using the lot name as a hashtag. But if that's not working, you can make a new save, select to edit the lot in Manage Worlds, save it to your Library, and then it'll be available in all your saves from the Library. Library files are stored on your computer in the Tray folder so anything you save there is available from any save.

    Hello,

Thanks for your answers, I don 't know what you mean exactly by backup saves but I do have files named save with dates that seems to be from the few last timed I played the sims so I would say yes ? But I don't know what to do with it.

Also, this mistake was made using the world building mode but while I was playing with my sims so I'm not sure if it has an impact.

I don't have any mods so the problem isn't there.

For the moment I'm looking in the gallery but I haven't been succesful
