@DefJune Were there other adults/elders/teen in the household ? If not, the child is taken away
Only pregnant Sims can't die.Probably best if you load a backup: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/recover-backup-save-game/ from before the mother died and add another Sim to the household.
